When alcohol companies' marketing shapes behavior and public policy
Health behaviors are strongly influenced by the business practices of alcohol manufacturers, who operate on multiple levels. Their lobbying of public authorities is effective in undermining any measures aimed at reducing consumption of their products, as demonstrated by the setbacks suffered by the Évin Law. The marketing of these multinational companies is also a powerful tool for encouraging the purchase of alcoholic beverages, with attractive packaging, available everywhere and at all hours. Keywords: Marketing, lobbying, Évin Law, manufacturers, behaviors, public health.
