Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Emergency department activity for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is slightly up, while SOS Médecins activity remains stable.

COVID-19

  • The rate of confirmed cases in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is decreasing, falling from 50.5 in Week 41 to 44.4 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 42. The percentage of calls for suspected COVID-19 cases handled by SOS Médecins is decreasing (3.75% vs. 4.52% in Week 41). The rate of emergency department visits is relatively stable and remains low (1.57% vs. 1.50% in Week 1). The proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is increasing slightly (48% vs. 44.1% in Week 1) and primarily involves those aged 65 and older (93.6%).

Flu

  • Influenza-related activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments is currently stable and low.

  • Among the 126 episodes of acute respiratory infection (ARI) occurring in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) between weeks 20 and 42, none was attributed exclusively to influenza.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity at SOS Médecins clinics is slightly higher than the levels observed last season.

  • Activity in emergency departments over the past few weeks remains below the levels observed during the previous season.
