Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic phase.

  • The region has been in an epidemic phase for 3 weeks.

  • The increase in bronchiolitis activity in emergency departments (13% vs. 11% in Week 1) and among SOS Médecins associations (8% vs. 6% in Week 1) continues.

Flu

  • Low activity.

  • Influenza-related activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments is low and remains near the levels of the previous season (Figures 3 and 4).

  • Among the 181 episodes of acute respiratory infection (ARI) occurring in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) between weeks 20 and 46, none were attributed exclusively to influenza (vs. 12 in France).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity.

  • Activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins remains low, close to that of the previous season.

  • Activity (all ages) in emergency departments over the past few weeks is within the range observed during the previous season.

COVID-19

  • The rate of confirmed cases in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is rising slightly: it rose from 29.6 in Week 45 to 36.8 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 46. The percentage of activity for suspected COVID-19 cases at SOS Médecins clinics is increasing (4.5% vs. 3.7% in Week 45). The rate of emergency department visits (1.4% vs. 1.2% in S-1) is relatively stable and remains low (Figure 8 and map below). The proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is stable (46.5% vs. 46.1% in S-1) and primarily concerns those aged 65 and older (89.2%).
