Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of April 20, 2023.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as at the national level, the positivity rate continues to rise amid a decline in testing rates. SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation continues to increase, with an incidence rate adjusted for the effect of the public holiday estimated at 86 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (close to the national rate: 88 per 100,000 inhabitants).

  • At the subregional level, departmental incidence rates range from 60 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Nièvre to 124 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Jura, and positivity rates range from 16.0% in Territoire-de-Belfort to 27.3% in Jura. Doubs, Jura, and Haute-Saône have the most unfavorable situations, with indicators exceeding the values observed in France.

Influenza

  • Continued decline in influenza-related activity (all ages) among SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments.

  • 46 severe cases of influenza admitted to intensive care reported by the intensive care sentinel network. The last reported case was admitted in week 11 (mid-March).

  • 55 reports of clusters of acute respiratory infections in long-term care facilities since early October 2022. The number of clusters has been very low over the past month (n=2).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics continues to decline and has returned to levels observed during previous seasons at the same time of year.

  • Emergency department activity is slightly increasing but remains lower than that observed last season.
