The initial findings of the 2010 Health Barometer from the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (Inpes) confirm the recent rise in smoking rates in France. The proportion of daily smokers appears to have increased since 2005, particularly among women. The overall results are, however, quite mixed. For example, the proportion of smokers who smoke more than ten cigarettes a day is declining.
