Key Points
In Week 52 (December 23–29, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased compared to the previous week among adults aged 75 and older (+18%, or +1,167 visits) and remained stable or decreased in other age groups.
The rise in seasonal respiratory indicators continues among adults (more markedly among those aged 75 and older) and, to a lesser extent, among children under 2 years of age: influenza/flu-like illness (+17%, or +1,688 visits among adults, and +25%, or +117 visits among children under 2), pneumonia (+25%, or +360 cases among adults, and +16%, or +12 cases among children under 2 years of age), asthma attacks (+22%, or +195 cases among adults, and +11%, or +10 cases among children under 2 years of age), upper respiratory tract disorders (+30%, or +139 cases among those aged 75 and older, and +7%, or +269 cases among children under 2 years of age), acute bronchitis (+13%, or +585 cases among adults).
Among children under 2 years of age, the number of procedures for bronchiolitis has decreased for the second consecutive week (-10%, or -58 procedures).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in cases of chickenpox across all age groups (+30%, or +76 cases), isolated fever in adults (+14%, or +32 cases), and among those aged 75 and older, acute gastroenteritis (+43%, or +60 cases), urinary tract infections (+16%, or +33 cases), and conjunctivitis (+73%, or +16 cases).
