Key Points
In Week 13 (March 28–April 3, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly among those aged 15–74 (+3%, or +1,173 visits); it remained stable or declined in other age groups.
Cases involving suspected COVID-19 remained stable after three consecutive weeks of increases. In total, 2,163 cases (vs. 2,176 cases in Week 12) were recorded across all age groups (a decrease of 0.6% vs. an increase of 21% in Week 12 and 15% in Week 11). Suspected COVID-19 remains in 5th place among children aged 2–14 and rises to 6th place among those aged 15–74 in the ranking of the most common conditions. At the regional level, procedures are stable or declining in most regions except in PACA (+19%, or +54 procedures), Grand-Est (+18%, or +23 procedures), Normandy (+11%, or +22 procedures), and Centre-Val de Loire (+140%, or +14 procedures).
Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 336,851 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
After three consecutive weeks of increases, there has been a slowdown in the trend of procedures for influenza/influenza-like illness, which remain stable among children and show a slight increase among adults (+4%, or +300 procedures), at levels well above those of 2019–2020.
There is also a slight increase in several indicators, mainly among adults, ranging from +4% to +7% (gastroenteritis, bronchitis, ENT conditions, asthma). Among children, increases were noted for bronchitis (+19%) and pneumonia (+20%) in small sample sizes.
