Trends in Overall Activity: The number of visits and hospitalizations is on the rise among children under 2 years of age (+17%, or 4,272 more visits; +9%, or 397 more hospitalizations) and, to a lesser extent, among people over 75 years of age (+6%, or 2,421 more visits; +3%, or 665 more hospitalizations, primarily due to pneumonia). Emergency department visits are stable among those aged 15–74 and declining among children aged 2–14 (-20%, -11,432 visits).

Trends in Major ConditionsThe conditions most frequently seen in emergency departments are stable or declining among adults over 15, excluding ENT infections, which increased by 44% among those aged 15–74 (+1,057 visits), and pneumonia among those over 75 (+27%, +515 visits). Among children under 15, an increase in visits is noted for ENT infections and bronchitis. An increase in visits for conjunctivitis is also observed among children under 2. Among children and adults under 75, a sharp decrease in trauma cases is observed (-34%, or -14,816 visits).

Trends in Seasonal IndicatorsAmong children under 2 years of age, emergency department visits for bronchiolitis increased by 9% over the past week (+344 visits). With 4,007 weekly visits, national figures exceed those of the previous two years, with regional trends remaining variable. While the epidemic peak has passed in the Île-de-France region (week 49) and in the North (week 51), numbers are still rising in other regions. Emergency room visits for influenza/flu-like illness continue to rise sharply across all age groups (+82%, or +516 visits). With 1,146 weekly visits, case numbers and trends are similar to those of 2012. Visits for acute bronchitis and pneumonia are rising across all age groups (except among 2- to 14-year-olds for pneumonia), by +41% (+901 visits) and +23% (+995 visits). The trends are similar to those of previous years, with higher numbers than in 2012 and 2013 during this period.Emergency department visits for ENT infections have increased by 28% across all age groups (+3,411 visits), with a more pronounced increase among adults (+44%) and children under 2 years of age (+33%). With 15,595 weekly visits, the numbers are significantly higher than in 2012 and 2013. Emergency room visits for gastroenteritis are up 21%, primarily among adults (+65%, +343 visits). Weekly visit numbers are, however, lower than in 2012 and 2013. Emergency room visits for asthma are up 35% (i.e., +323 visits) among adults and down among children. The number of visits for this condition remains significantly higher than in the two previous years during this period.
