Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of May 2, 2013.
News
Vector-borne Diseases Starting May 1, a fast-track reporting system for suspected imported cases of chikungunya and dengue will be implemented in departments where the Aedes albopictus mosquito is present. This year, the departments of Aude, Gard, Hérault, and Pyrénées-Orientales are affected. Please note: the rapid reporting procedure has been simplified compared to previous seasons and no longer includes the reporting of suspected autochthonous cases (people who have not traveled to endemic areas). Confirmed autochthonous cases are now subject only to mandatory reporting and daily monitoring by the InVS of test results transmitted by its network of laboratories. You will find case definitions as well as useful links to the reporting form in the dedicated fact sheet.
Gastroenteritis: The incidence rates estimated by the Sentinelles network have fallen below the epidemic threshold, both nationally and regionally.
Asthma and AllergiesIn Languedoc-Roussillon, emergency room visits for asthma remain moderate, as do the diagnoses made by SOS Médecins.
