Influenza Surveillance in France – Situation as of February 18, 2015Large-scale epidemic nearing its peak: The number of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness is increasing, but at a slower rate than in previous weeks. The peak is expected to be imminent.- Incidence of influenza-like illnesses seen in general practice, estimated at 940 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: slightly increasing- SOS Médecins: Very high activity = 23%: stable- Emergency room visits for influenza: stable- Intensive care admissions: 728 severe cases of influenza reported since the start of surveillance, including 245 cases last week- 274 outbreaks of acute respiratory infections in elderly care facilities since the start of surveillance, including 45 outbreaks last week- Influenza A viruses are overwhelmingly predominant (Réseau Unique): 86% type A, including 63% A(H3N2), 20% A(H1N1)pdm09, 3% A (not subtyped)
Influenza Surveillance in Auvergne – Situation as of 02/18/2015Activity peaked during week 6, with a slight decrease in week 7- Incidence of influenza-like illness seen in general practice, estimated at 848 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: stable- SOS Médecins Clermont-Ferrand: Very high activity = 21%: slightly decreasing- Emergency room visits for influenza: slightly decreasing- Intensive care admissions: 12 severe cases of influenza reported since the start of surveillance, including 3 cases in week 7 and 2 in week 8- 18 outbreaks of acute respiratory infections in long-term care facilities since the start of surveillance, including 2 outbreaks last week- Influenza A viruses overwhelmingly predominant (Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital): 85% type A
