Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of October 29, 2012
The warm weather conditions observed in Nord-Pas-de-Calais have led to 28 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning, accounting for 44% of all cases reported nationwide over the past two weeks; nearly all of them were linked to the use of a coal stove.
The weekly number of poisoning incidents, totaling 32, observed over the past two weeks is typical of the start of the heating season.
Since September 1, 2012, five people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, including two in the past two weeks.
