Psychoactive Substance Use and the Workplace.
The Baromètre Santé survey conducted by INPES in 2010, thanks to the size of its sample, allows for an analysis of addictive substance use by economic sector. - Among people aged 16 to 64, tobacco and alcohol are the most commonly used substances among the working population. - Between 2005 and 2010, there was an increase in episodes of binge drinking and, among women, in tobacco use. Annual cocaine use is on the rise, while use of cannabis, ecstasy, and poppers appears stable - Substance use is linked to employment status; thus, the unemployed exhibit a pattern of excessive use of these substances. - Certain industries have a higher proportion of psychoactive substance users, but the nature of consumption varies across the occupational sectors observed.
