Santé publique France is France’s national public health agency. A public institution under the authority of the Minister of Health, created through the merger of several public institutions by Order No. 2016-246 of April 15, 2016, the agency works to promote public health. As a scientific, expert, and public health safety agency, its missions include
:

  1. Epidemiological observation and monitoring of the health status of the population;
  2. Monitoring health risks threatening the population;
  3. Promoting health and reducing health risks;
  4. Developing prevention and health education;
  5. Preparation for and response to health threats, alerts, and crises;
  6. Issuing health alerts.

The agency is organized into 12 scientific, cross-functional, or support divisions.

impact of all public policies, as well as health prevention and promotion.

Responsibilities

Within the NOA unit, the recruited scientific project manager will be responsible for contributing to, implementing, or coordinating activities related to the surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in healthcare facilities (HCFs) and long-term care facilities (LTCFs).

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the unit head, the successful candidate will coordinate the preparation and implementation of the national prevalence survey of HAIs and antimicrobial use in acute care healthcare facilities, as part of the European project coordinated by the ECDC (PPS-4: Point Prevalence Surveys of Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Use in European Acute Care Hospitals). In this context, they will be responsible for carrying out the following activities:

  • monitoring key survey milestones, planning activities, and providing regular reports to the unit manager;

  • in this context, establish, coordinate, and lead the national working group set up with the CPIas and representatives of healthcare institutions to support the implementation of the survey;
  • contribute to the training of healthcare professionals involved in data collection, in collaboration with the CPIas and the ECDC;
  • Update and oversee the functional support for the PrevIAS application, as well as the reporting of survey results to participating healthcare facilities;
  • produce national and regional prevalence indicators for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antibiotic treatments in healthcare facilities, contribute to the analysis of the collected data, and produce the expected prevalence indicators;
  • draft reports and summaries of these surveys to inform public prevention policies and promote the results, both at the national and European levels in coordination with the ECDC;

Depending on changes in the agency’s programming priorities and needs, the research officer may be asked to contribute, within their area of expertise, to other topics within the unit related to the surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.

In this context, they may, in particular, participate in international meetings and working groups coordinated by the ECDC. Finally, they will participate in Santé publique France’s on-call duties and contribute to any actions falling within the Agency’s remit if necessary in a crisis situation.
