Preventive Health Screenings at Key Life Stages
Find out all about the new “My Preventive Health Checkup” program, available to everyone to assess their health at key stages of life.
My Prevention Checkup: What Is It?
My Prevention Checkup is a new program launched in 2024. It allows everyone to assess their health and lifestyle habits at key ages (18–25, 45–50, 60–65, and 70–75) and receive tailored prevention advice and a personalized prevention plan. Fully
covered by Medicare, these checkups can be conducted by a doctor, a pharmacist, a midwife, or a nurse. Many topics can be addressed during this consultation: diet, physical activity, addictions, sleep, mental health, sexual health, vaccinations, screenings… Santé publique France is a partner in the new “My Prevention Checkup” initiative, launched by the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance. As part of this effort, we offer several tools to promote these checkups among vulnerable populations.

“Outreach” workers: a vital role in supporting people in vulnerable situations
A key challenge of the initiative is to address social health inequalities and support vulnerable individuals in accessing these preventive services.
Indeed, people who are disconnected from the healthcare system may face multiple vulnerabilities that can create obstacles in the prevention and care pathway (age, social and economic insecurity, educational level, the digital divide, language barriers, geographic isolation, physical or mental disabilities, loss of independence, mental health issues, past experiences of violence, etc.).
To raise awareness and support people in vulnerable situations, in the services and various places they frequent in their daily lives, an “outreach” strategy is being implemented by stakeholders and professionals in collaboration with the Regional Health Agencies.
Accessible informational materials translated into multiple languages
To equip community liaisons, Santé publique France has collaborated with more than a dozen associations and professionals to develop educational flyers and videos translated into 16 languages, taking into account health literacy and disability, as well as a poster for reception and housing facilities.
Information materials on various prevention topics are also available and can be provided by healthcare professionals during the prevention assessment.

Tools for professionals to support them in their work
An educational brochure designed for outreach workers, professionals in the social and medical-social sectors, and volunteers who work with these populations has been produced and is available for download and by order. It provides guidance to better understand the “My Prevention Assessment” program, learn how to discuss it, and offer it to the people they meet and support. Their role is essential in explaining the importance of prevention, helping people decide to take the assessment, assisting with the self-assessment questionnaire, and referring them to a healthcare professional…
A poster for reception centers, shelters, public services, and waiting rooms aims to encourage people in vulnerable situations to consult with a healthcare professional to receive personalized advice.
