Health Monitoring in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Update as of October 12, 2023.

Key Points

Allergies

  • Due to a late heat wave, ragweed pollen is present but on the decline, with a moderate allergy risk for several departments in the region.

Bronchiolitis

  • Increased visits to emergency rooms and SOS Médecins calls for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age; few confirmed RSV infections.

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • Surveillance for cases of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika began on May 1, 2023. In total, 152 imported cases of dengue—mostly from Martinique and Guadeloupe—and 8 cases of chikungunya have been identified in the region. The first two locally acquired cases of dengue this season in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes were identified in the Drôme department.

COVID-19

  • In week 40 (October 2–8, 2023), SARS-CoV-2 circulation is at a moderate level in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and is trending toward stabilization. The number of people testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 in laboratories is stable, while emergency room visits and SOS Médecins calls for suspected COVID-19 are decreasing slightly.
