HIV and Bacterial STIs in Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy. Bulletin dated June 6, 2025.

Key Points

  • 2025: Creation of the Regional Coordination Committees on Sexual Health (CoReSS), replacing the COREVIH.

  • Since September 2024, the new “My STI Test” program has expanded upon the “HIV Test” program and now offers screening for other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in addition to HIV.

  • Since its implementation, the number of tests conducted in Guadeloupe through December 2024 has increased fivefold. This trend is also observed in Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, albeit on a smaller scale.

  • Adoption of bacterial STI testing through the “Mon Test IST” program in Guadeloupe is very high, with a rate relative to the regional population nearly three times higher than that of mainland France.

  • The incidence in Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy has trended downward since 2015. A stabilization phase then set in until 2023, when a decline was observed that remains to be confirmed. The epidemic is still active, with late-stage testing.

  • Focus on a local prevention initiative in 2024: the Marie Galante Sexual Health Forum, a program set to be rolled out across the entire territory of Guadeloupe.

  • HPV: Feedback on HPV vaccination, which remains insufficient in Guadeloupe.

  • Presentation of various prevention materials produced by Santé publique France at the national level.
