Key Points
In Week 24 (June 9–15, 2025), compared with the previous week, the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations following emergency department visits remained stable across all age groups.
Among adults and children, there was an increase in visits for isolated fever (+12%, or +537 visits), allergies (+9%, or +225 visits), and insect bites (+62%, or +473 visits).
Among 2- to 14-year-olds, there was an increase in cases of gastroenteritis (+9%, or +154 visits) and hyperthermia/heatstroke (298 visits compared to 55 visits the previous week) in numbers comparable to previous years. Among children, there was an increase in conjunctivitis (+10%, or +38 visits), meningitis in small numbers (+73%, or +11 visits), as well as an increase in visits for chickenpox among children under 2 years of age (+16%, or +20 visits).
Among adults, there was an increase in visits for gastroenteritis (+9%, or +126 visits), dehydration (+53%, or +122 visits), hyperthermia/heatstroke (+192 visits), and COVID-19 (+20%, or +82 visits). Among those aged 15–74, there was also an increase in visits for vomiting (+6%, or +57 visits), cough (+13%, or +41 visits), renal colic (+6%, or +227 visits), and trauma (+5%, or +3,033 visits). There was also an increase in visits for suicide attempts among those aged 45–64 (+6%, or 20 visits) and among those aged 65 and older (+10%, or 16 visits). Among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in visits for general malaise (+8%, or +362 visits) and ENT conditions (+6%, or +10 visits).
