Key Points
In Week 06 (February 3–9, 2025), emergency department visits remained stable compared to the previous week for both children (down 4%, or 4,324 visits) and adults (down 2%, or 7,166 visits). Hospitalizations following emergency room visits decreased among children under 2 years of age (-6%, or 210 fewer hospitalizations) and remained stable in other age groups.
Visits for influenza/influenza-like illness decreased compared to the previous week across all age groups (-22%, or -3,560 visits across all ages). The percentage of activity among children (7.5% of total activity) remains high.
Emergency department visits for other respiratory indicators have stabilized (acute bronchitis and pneumonia in children) or are decreasing (acute bronchitis and pneumonia in adults, upper respiratory tract conditions, suspected COVID-19, and asthma attacks across all age groups) compared to the previous week. Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis have decreased compared to the previous week (-10%, or -152 visits).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in visits for conjunctivitis among children under 2 years of age (+8%, or +16 visits) and among those aged 45–64 for suicide attempts (+8%, or +23 visits).
