Summary

In week 49 (December 2–8), total emergency department activity decreased among those aged 2–14 and 15–74 (-6%, or -18,406 visits) and remained stable among those under 2 and those aged 75 and older. Hospitalizations following emergency department visits remained stable.

Most indicators are stable or declining across all age groups. The few increases observed are mainly among children under 2 years of age (bronchiolitis, pneumonia, acute bronchitis, and infectious conjunctivitis), with increases of around +10%, resulting in a total increase of +395 visits.
Regarding bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age, with the exception of Corsica, which is entering the pre-epidemic phase, all other metropolitan regions are now in the epidemic phase.

Across all age groups, there has been a continued rise in influenza cases (+24%, or +179 visits).
