Key Points
In Week 13 (March 25–31, 2024), emergency department visits were stable or declining across all age groups, as were hospitalizations following those visits.
In general, seasonal indicators and the most common conditions show little fluctuation and involve small numbers of cases.
Regarding respiratory conditions, visits for influenza/flu-like illness continue to decline (-20% across all ages, or -229 visits). In contrast, there is a slight increase in visits for acute bronchitis (+8% across all ages, or +124 visits) and pneumonia (+9% among those aged 15–74 only, or +243 visits).
Emergency department visits for measles among adults are up compared to the previous week, with 8 visits in Week 13 versus 2 in Week 12. In contrast, among children, the number remains stable compared to the previous week (11 visits in Week 13 vs. 12 in Week 12).
