Leptospirosis Surveillance in Mayotte. 2020 Report.
Key points
71 biologically confirmed cases of leptospirosis in 2020 in Mayotte.
A lower incidence and an earlier peak than in previous years, possibly linked to the dengue and SARS-CoV-2 epidemics: indirect consequences of lockdown (decreased use of healthcare services and a possible reduction in high-risk activities) and changes in diagnostic testing practices.
Half of the patients tested at clinics or referral centers were from the Central zone.
