Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic on the decline.

  • Bronchiolitis-related activity remains at a post-epidemic level in S09: it decreased to 6.8% (vs. 8.1% in S-1) among emergency department visits and increased slightly to 3.3% (vs. 2.4% in S-1) of SOS Médecins calls. Among emergency department visits for children under 1 year of age, activity remains at 10% (13.3% in S-1).

  • The rate of bronchiolitis hospitalizations among all coded hospitalizations increased slightly to 18.2% (16% in Week 1).

Flu

  • 13th week of the epidemic.

  • Flu-related activity continues to decline among emergency department visits in Week 9, with 2.5% of cases attributed to the flu (vs. 3.4% in Week 1), as does the rate of flu-related hospitalizations among all coded hospitalizations (1.1% vs. 2.8% in Week 1).

  • Activity is also decreasing in private practice: 10.7% (vs. 17.1% in Week 1) among SOS Médecins calls in Week 9. This decline also applies to those under 15 years of age.

COVID-19

  • Low activity

  • The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions. The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.

Gastroenteritis

  • Activity related to gastroenteritis remained at a moderate level in S09 at 1.4% (vs. 1.5% in S-1) for emergency departments and at 6.7% (vs. 7.3% in S-1) for SOS Médecins. The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region saw high activity (SOS Médecins, all ages) in S07-2025.
