Key points

Tuberculosis

• Bourgogne-Franche-Comté has one of the lowest incidence rates (4.9 per 100,000, or 137 reported cases in 2023). The most affected populations remain the same as those identified in previous years: people experiencing homelessness, prisoners, and people born outside France, particularly those from sub-Saharan Africa and those who have been in France for less than two years.

Bronchiolitis

• Bronchiolitis-related activity among children under 2 years of age remained steady in S13 at 5.3% (vs. 4.5% in S-1) among emergency department visits and at 3.4% (vs. 1.6% in S-1) for SOS Médecins.

• About ten bronchiolitis-related hospitalizations were recorded among all coded hospitalizations in Week 13.

• The circulation of RSV in private laboratories is increasing, though with a low number of samples (7.3%, or 13 positive samples in S13 vs. 1.8% in S-1; see page 6). In hospitals, the positivity rate is low (2.2% in S13 vs. 3.0% in S-1).

Influenza

• Activity among emergency department visits is low in Week 13, with 0.7% of cases attributed to influenza (vs. 0.6% in Week 1), as is the rate of influenza-related hospitalizations among all coded hospitalizations (0.3% vs. 0.5% in Week 1).

• Activity is decreasing in urban areas: 2.7% (vs. 4.0% in S-1) among SOS Médecins calls in S13.

• Respectively, 57 and 85 cases of influenza were treated by emergency departments and SOS associations in S13.

• Viral circulation is stable in community laboratories (7.3% in W13 vs. 7.6% in W-1; see page 6). In hospitals, the positivity rate is decreasing (1.8% in W13 vs. 4.9% in W-1).

COVID-19

• Low activity.

• The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions.

• The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.

Gastroenteritis

• High activity.

• Activity related to gastroenteritis is high in Week 13 at 1.6% (vs. 1.4% in Week 1) in both emergency departments and SOS Médecins at 8.4% (vs. 8.2% in Week 1).
