Outbreak ended in mid-March
Bronchiolitis-related activity among children under 2 years of age remained steady in Week 14 at 5.8% (vs. 5.3% in Week 1) among emergency department visits and at 2.1% (vs. 3.4% in Week 1) for SOS Médecins.
Fewer than ten bronchiolitis-related hospitalizations were recorded among all coded hospitalizations in Week 14.
RSV circulation in private laboratories is decreasing (2.4% in Week 14 vs. 7.3% in Week 1, see table). In hospitals, the positivity rate remains low (2.2% in Week 14 vs. 2.2% in Week 1, see table).
Influenza
Activity is decreasing among emergency department visits in Week 14, with 0.3% of cases attributed to influenza (vs. 0.6% in Week 1).
Activity is stable in the community: 2.4% (vs. 2.6% in W1) among SOS Médecins cases in W14.
Respectively, 52 and 79 cases of influenza were treated by emergency departments and SOS associations last week.
Viral circulation is decreasing in community laboratories (2.4% in Week 14 vs. 7.3% in Week 1; see page 6). In hospitals, the positivity rate remains at 2.2% in Week 14 vs. 1.8% in Week 1.
Covid-19
Low activity
The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions. The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.
Acute gastroenteritis
High activity
Activity related to gastroenteritis is high and continues to rise in Week 14 to 1.8% (vs. 1.6% in Week 1) for emergency departments and to 8.9% (vs. 8.4% in Week 1) for SOS Médecins.
The number of emergency room visits has increased (293 in Week 14 vs. 249 in Week 1), as has the number of SOS Médecins calls (287 in Week 14 vs. 270 in Week 1).
