The Transition to Adulthood: A Critical Period for Health-Related Behavioral Changes

The lifestyle changes that accompany the transition to adulthood are numerous: leaving the family home, making independent decisions, a less structured daily routine (class schedules, etc.), the influence of peers and evolving social groups… can all contribute to the development of unhealthy eating habits. But this is also a period during which healthy habits can be established and maintained into adulthood by addressing the main barriers identified to a varied and balanced diet: lack of time, skills, equipment, and cost.

That is why Santé publique France, through its Manger Bouger program, wanted to offer simple, quick, inexpensive, and easy-to-prepare recipes to young people aged 18 to 30.

The goal of this new edition of the En 2-2 campaign is to inspire young people to cook at home by providing them with ideas for delicious, quick recipes that don’t require too much equipment or skill.

“En 2-2”: a campaign closely aligned with the world of young people

Titled “En 2-2: Fast Good Recipes to Make at Home,” the new edition of the campaign draws inspiration from street food, which is particularly popular among young people and directly competes with home cooking.

As a result, six new delicious, healthy, and quick-to-make recipes are available on the mangerbouger.fr website and on the @mangerbougerfr Instagram account. On the menu: broccoli falafels, cereal-crusted fish & chips, tuna, corn, and red bean tacos, spicy chicken skewers, spinach and feta brick pastries, and a chicken banh mi. A variety of appetizing dishes that can be prepared in just a few simple steps.

Hakim, Roman, and Djimo, who have a large following among young people, are championing better eating and taking part in the “En 2-2” challenge

Hakim, Roman, and Djimo—three comedians who aren’t necessarily used to cooking at home—have agreed to each prepare one of the six recipes proposed by En 2-2. They’re inviting their community to try it out, prioritize home-cooked meals, and reduce their consumption of prepared or delivered food.

Check out their videos on the @hakimjemili, @romanfrayssinet, and @djimoofficiel accounts, as well as on the @mangerbougerfr account.

To spread the word about the new recipes and inspire as many young people as possible to follow their lead and cook at home a little more often, Djimo, Hakim, and Roman have also teamed up with MangerBouger to create short, humorous clips encouraging 18- to 30-year-olds to discover the En 2-2 recipes:

These videos, along with three additional humorous teasers, will be shown for one month on the platforms most frequently used by 18- to 30-year-olds: YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

Videos will also be shown on select college campuses.

An editorial partnership with Topito also offers tips and advice on how to cook at home more often and more quickly without necessarily needing a lot of equipment or skills.
