In 2020, the main findings regarding stroke patients treated in the emergency departments of the 7 centers participating in the EPAC survey are as follows:

• CVCs are more common among the youngest and oldest age groups. Overall, the majority of CVC victims are men;

• Overall, the most common location for AcVCs is the home. AcVCs occur mainly during play and recreational activities; falls are the most common cause of AcVCs;

• Overall, contusions are the most frequently observed injuries in a CVA. Injuries are most often located in the upper limbs, lower limbs, and head;

• the majority of AcVCs appear to be minor, as they do not result in hospitalization or subsequent follow-up. However, this should not lead to the conclusion that AcVCs are without consequences (the potential consequences of AcVCs in terms of functional limitations and quality of life are not measured in EPAC);

• the circumstances surrounding the occurrence of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), their consequences in terms of lesions (nature and locations), and their management vary significantly by age group and gender. Furthermore, the lockdowns implemented in 2020 may have led to behavioral changes that could explain the observed variations in the circumstances surrounding the occurrence of TIAs.
