This article, which aims to describe contraceptive practices among young women, shows that contraceptive coverage remains high, affecting more than 90% of women at risk of an unintended pregnancy. Use of the pill remains widespread (nearly 80%) despite the rise of new methods such as the implant. The recent use of emergency contraception, which was common among those under 20 (20%), has increased slightly among all 15- to 29-year-olds, rising from 9% to 11% over five years. Despite the high rate of contraceptive coverage, there has also been a high rate of unintended pregnancies over the past five years, affecting two-thirds of women who have ever been pregnant.
