Key Points

COVID-19

  • Regional viral circulation slightly on the rise

  • Increase in active cases among patients in conventional hospitalization

  • Other indicators are decreasing or stable

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • 26 imported cases of dengue and 1 imported case of chikungunya have been identified in the region since surveillance began

  • Three outbreaks of local dengue transmission and 51 cases have been identified in the region

West Nile virus

  • 5 cases of West Nile virus infection have been confirmed by the CNR. These are locally transmitted cases involving individuals residing in or having stayed in the Bouches-du-Rhône and Var departments.

  • Four equine cases were also confirmed by the LNR in the Var department in August and September.

Bronchiolitis

  • 4th week of the outbreak

  • Emergency departments - Regionally, the proportion of visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is rising sharply (20.3% vs. 17.5% in Week 44), though it remains below the 2021-2022 epidemic peak.

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is rising (9.6% vs. 8.8% in W44), though it remains below the epidemic peak of 2021-2022.

Flu

  • Emergency departments - Emergency department activity related to flu-like syndromes remains low.

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for a diagnosis of influenza-like illness is rising slightly.

  • Sentinelles Network - The incidence rate for influenza-like illness reported by the Sentinelles network in week 44, not yet consolidated, is 121 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [46; 196]).
