Health Monitoring in Occitanie. Bulletin of January 2, 2025.

Key Points

Acute Respiratory Infections

  • In week 52, activity related to acute respiratory infections across all age groups continued to rise in primary care and hospitals (a similar trend was observed nationwide). A significant portion of ARI-related activity was linked to consultations for influenza viruses (50% at SOS Médecins and 37% in emergency departments).

Bronchiolitis

  • In Week 52, the Occitanie region was in its fifth epidemic week. Most indicators were beginning to decline (with the exception of virological data from clinical laboratories; however, this indicator should be interpreted with caution this week due to a significant drop in the number of tests performed, likely due to holidays).

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • The Occitanie region was in week 52 of its third epidemic week. All indicators were rising sharply.

COVID-19

  • In week 52, regional indicators were stable or declining in community healthcare but showed a slight increase in hospitals and wastewater, as has been the case for several weeks.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • In week 52, regional indicators were stable or decreasing in primary care and slightly increasing in hospitals. These trends were similar among adults and young children (under 5 years of age).
