Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Bulletin of March 6, 2025.

Key Points

Flu-like Illnesses and Acute Respiratory Infections

  • Both in hospitals and in community settings, indicators of healthcare utilization for influenza-like illness were declining in the Île-de-France region across all age groups for the fifth consecutive week. It should be noted that the return from vacation could lead to a slight increase in the number of cases in week 10.

  • The distribution of influenza virus types and subtypes has not undergone any major changes in recent weeks.

Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE)

  • Stabilization in emergency room visits and hospitalizations for AGE across all age groups; a decrease in both indicators among those under 15.

  • Decrease in the number of AGE-related visits at SOS Médecins across all age groups.

  • The incidence rate for consultations for acute diarrhea among sentinel physicians has stabilized.

  • In S09, activity in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins for AGE remained at a high level and exceeded the trends from 2024 for the same period of the year.

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: In Week 9, the number of cases for suspected COVID-19 remained stable across all age groups. Case numbers remained low.

  • Emergency department visits: In Week 9, the number of visits for suspected COVID-19 remained stable across all age groups. Case numbers remained low.

  • Clusters of ARI cases in long-term care facilities: The number of ARI clusters with a COVID-19 diagnosis reported by long-term care facilities (primarily nursing homes) remained low since late 2024.
