Olympic and Paralympic Games
Hospital Emergency Department Activity: The number of emergency department visits outside the AP-HP system remained stable. Note an increase in visits for heatstroke, fainting spells, asthma, and skin conditions. The number of hospitalizations remained stable at a moderate level.
SOS Médecins activity: The number of SOS Médecins calls remained stable at a low level, consistent with the summer vacation period. Note a moderate increase in the number of calls for migraines, headaches, and hyperthermia/heatstroke.
Activity of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP): The number of people treated decreased, except for alcohol poisoning and general symptoms.
Extreme heat, heat wave
All departments in the Île-de-France region are on green alert.
Dengue, chikungunya, Zika
198 confirmed or probable cases of imported dengue fever investigated to date, compared to 104 during the same period in 2023. A first atypical case of chikungunya has been classified as locally acquired in Île-de-France, as it meets the definition criteria. There is no link to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Measles
Since the beginning of 2024, the Île-de-France region has been experiencing a measles outbreak. The number of reported cases over the past two weeks is decreasing. However, confirmation of this decrease will only be possible after a certain period of data consolidation.
Whooping Cough
There has been a significant increase in visits to SOS Médecins and emergency rooms for whooping cough since the start of the second quarter of 2024 in the Île-de-France region.
