Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of October 28, 2022.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • Slight decline in epidemic activity (IT, TP) across all age groups at the regional level, with an estimated IT of 496 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-10%) and a TP that is now stable (24.3%, -0.3 percentage points)

  • Viral circulation remains most intense among those aged 65 and older, particularly in the Nord department (estimated IT of 713 cases per 100,000 inhabitants)

  • Decrease in healthcare utilization for suspected COVID-19 in outpatient settings and hospitals, against a backdrop of a sharp increase in acute respiratory infections (Sentinel Network)

  • Vaccination coverage among the most vulnerable (over 60 years old) (34.5%), who are eligible for a second booster, remains too low

  • Among the BA.5 sublineages (88.8% of sequences in the Flash S41 survey), BQ.1.1 has seen a rapid increase in the Hauts-de-France region.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic phase for the third week: sharp and sustained increase at SOS Médecins and in the region’s emergency departments

  • Significant circulation of RSV among hospitalized patients

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic phase but continued increase in activity at SOS Médecins, stable in emergency departments

  • Activity remains at a low level

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Moderate activity, slightly increasing in emergency departments, stable at SOS Médecins
