Survival Rates for People with Cancer in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 - Oral Cavity
In France, in 2018, the estimated number of new cases of oral cancer was 4,677, including 3,106 in men and 1,571 in women. Key points: 5-year age-standardized survival rate of 44% for men and 56% for women for cases diagnosed between 2010 and 2015; 13-point improvement in the 5-year age-standardized survival rate between 1990 and 2015; Improvement in 5-year and 10-year net survival, more pronounced among people aged 50. Smaller and comparable gains among people aged 60 to 80; Excess mortality still noticeable 20 years after diagnosis.
