Starting in March 2020, following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Dublin (Ireland) provided homeless individuals—who were at risk of developing severe cases of COVID-19—with private housing instead of group shelters. This initiative had two objectives: to protect them from the virus and to provide them with housing while ensuring access to healthcare and social services. Initial lessons learned from this pilot program.
