The General Practitioner and Tuberculosis: Diagnostic Criteria: Definitive evidence: Detection of the bacillus in pathological specimens; Presumptive evidence: Clinical presentation—chest X-ray showing recent cavitation. Strongly positive tuberculin skin test. Some therapeutic reminders; Regular antibiotic intake; Minimize hospitalization and time off work. Note: Latent primary infection (simple cutaneous reaction): chemoprophylaxis with isoniazid alone for 6 months (5 mg per kg per day); If the primary infection is active, treatment is the same as for tuberculosis. Specialized hospitalization in cases of drug-resistant tuberculosis or tuberculosis relapse.
