Regarding a mass foodborne illness outbreak caused by histamine in Brest

On Friday, October 25, 1996, the physicians in charge of the Avisos stationed in the port of Brest simultaneously treated three sailors from the same vessel. They presented with general malaise, diarrhea, and flushing of the face and neck. One of them experienced these symptoms immediately after consuming an appetizer consisting of smoked fish and seafood. Histamine poisoning was immediately suspected. The results of the investigations conducted on this occasion are reported and discussed in this article. (adapted from the text).
