Survey on Accidental Deaths Among Children Under 15 - MAC 15

The MAC-15 survey is organized by Santé publique France in collaboration with the Center for Epidemiology of Medical Causes of Death (CépiDc, Inserm).
The main objective of MAC-15 is to improve understanding of the circumstances and risk factors leading to accidental deaths in children under 15. This improved understanding will help assess the preventability of these deaths and guide prevention measures. These actions are part of one of the objectives of the Public Health Act: to reduce accidental deaths in daily life among children.
All accidental deaths in daily life among children under 15 that occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2009, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Île-de-France, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions will be investigated through a telephone questionnaire administered to those who cared for the victim (first responders, emergency medical personnel, physicians who completed the death certificates, etc.).
