Medical procedures for bronchitis, ENT conditions, and asthma attacks continued to rise among children (up 46%, 22%, and 14%, respectively) as well as among adults (up 44%, 32%, and 36%, respectively), though the increase was less pronounced among children than in Week 37. More specifically among children under 2 years of age, as in S37, there was also an increase in procedures for bronchiolitis (+57%, or +84 procedures, vs. +59%, or +55 procedures, in S37) and infectious conjunctivitis (+17%, or +25 procedures). Finally, there was an increase in medical procedures for pneumonia (+32%, or +43 procedures) among those aged 75 and older.

After 8 weeks of decline, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 across all age groups have risen for the third consecutive week. In total, 3,589 procedures (vs. 3,041 procedures in Week 37) were recorded (i.e., +18% vs. +44% in Week 37). This increase applies only to adults aged 15–74 (+25%, or +515 procedures) and those aged 75 and older (+47%, or +71 procedures), with procedures showing a slight decrease among children (-5%, or -35 procedures). At the regional level, SOS Médecins medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are on the rise in most regions, with the exception of Corsica, Brittany, the Pays de la Loire, and Martinique.

Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 504,054 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
