Key Points
In Week 43 (October 21–27, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children under 2 years of age (+7.5%, or +458 visits), decreased among 2- to 14-year-olds (-14%, or -2,973 visits), and remained stable in other age groups.
Once again this week, cases related to seasonal respiratory indicators were stable or declining among children aged 2–14 and adults. In contrast, among children under 2 years of age, there has been an increase in cases of bronchiolitis (+31%, or +66 cases), though numbers remain lower than in the previous three years, as well as an increase in cases of asthma attacks (+30%, or +21 cases), acute bronchitis (+20%, or +34 cases), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+7%, or +432 cases).
Among other indicators, still among children under 2 years of age, there was also an increase in procedures for stomatological and ENT conditions (+15%) and dermatological problems (+14%), though the numbers remain low. The increase in procedures for infectious conjunctivitis continues among children under 2 years of age (+25%, or +62 procedures) and is also observed among adults (+23%, or +93 procedures), with sample sizes comparable to the previous three years.
Among adults, procedures are on the rise for urinary tract infections (+11%) among those aged 15–74 and for falls (+17%), trauma (+12%), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+9%) among those over 75.
