Key Points

  • In Week 19 (May 6–12, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics was generally down, except among those aged 75 and older (+6%).

  • Across all age groups, there was an increase in cases involving allergies (+16%), asthma attacks (+11%), trauma (+11%, most pronounced among those under 2 years old: +150% and those 75 years or older: +41%), and pneumonia (+23%). These figures remain significantly higher than in previous years.

  • Two indicators show contrasting trends across age groups, rising among those under 15 but falling among those 15 and older. These are procedures for conjunctivitis (respectively +28% and -10%) and isolated fever (+10% and -21%).

  • Some indicators continue to decline to levels similar to previous years, notably procedures for influenza/influenza-like illness (-28%), vomiting (-21%), and acute bronchitis (-15%) across all age groups. Among those aged 15 and older, we note a decline in procedures for suspected COVID-19 infection (-10%) after several weeks of increases.
