SOS Médecins National Newsletter, March 4, 2024
Key Points
In Week 09 (February 26–March 3, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to decline among those under 15 years of age (-11%, or 3,433 fewer visits) and remained stable among those over 15 years of age (-2%).
This decline in activity is primarily driven by a decrease in cases of influenza/flu-like illness among those under 15 (-42%, or -954 cases) and among those over 15 (-27%, or -1,605 cases). Other seasonal respiratory indicators are stable and either higher (acute bronchitis, pneumonia) or comparable to previous years (suspected COVID-19 infection, upper respiratory tract conditions, bronchiolitis).
Among the other monitored indicators showing notable variation, there was an increase in asthma among children under 2 years of age (+20%, or +17 cases) and a decrease in trauma among children under 15 years of age (-20%).
