Key Points
In Week 09 (February 24–March 2, 2025), compared to the previous week, activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased among children (-11%, or 2,936 fewer visits) and remained stable among adults.
Respiratory indicators continued to decline, primarily among 2- to 14-year-olds. For the fifth consecutive week, cases of influenza/influenza-like illness decreased across all age groups (-37%, or 4,592 fewer cases compared to the previous week). A decrease in cases of acute bronchitis (-19%, or 869 fewer cases) and pneumonia (-13%, or 190 fewer cases) is also observed across all age groups, as well as a decrease in upper respiratory tract infections among children only (-16%, or 1,889 fewer cases).
Regarding indicators related to acute digestive conditions, cases of gastroenteritis are on the rise among children aged 2–14 (+12%, or +211 cases) and are down this week among those aged 75 and older (-23%, or -52 cases). Procedures for abdominal pain are increasing across all age groups (+7%, or +116 procedures), as are procedures for vomiting (+11%, or +66 procedures), particularly among those aged 75 and older (+68%, or +26 procedures).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in procedures among adults for isolated fever (+13%, or +32 procedures) as well as for conjunctivitis and ENT stomatology among those aged 15–74 (respectively +16% and +15%, or +82 and +193 procedures). An increase in procedures was observed for trauma among children (+17%, or +73 procedures) and for allergies among those aged 2–14 (+8%, or +24 procedures).
