Key Points
In Week 12 (March 18–24, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose very slightly among children (+5.5%, or +336 visits) and remained stable among adults.
Respiratory conditions continued to decline among adults and, for the most part, among children; notably, flu-related visits (-20% across all ages). Visits for pneumonia remained at a level significantly higher than in previous years.
Among other indicators linked to weather conditions, an increase is observed among children in cases of infectious conjunctivitis (+21%, or +167 cases) and ENT conditions (+8%, or +1,041 cases). More specifically, among 2- to 14-year-olds, these increases are accompanied by a rise in procedures for asthma (+19%, or +79 procedures), viral syndrome (+21%, or +108 procedures), and allergies (+14%, or +83 procedures), and among children under 2 years of age, procedures for dermatological conditions (+21%, or +21 procedures).
To a lesser extent, among adults, there was an increase in visits for general malaise (+14%, or +33 visits), gastroenteritis among those aged 75 and older (+15%, or +20 visits), and depressive disorders among those aged 45–64 (+39%, or +20 visits).
