Key Points
In Week 10 (March 7–13, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among 2- to 14-year-olds (+23%, or +3,157 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.
After a week of stabilization following several weeks of decline, cases involving suspected COVID-19 are rising sharply among 2- to 14-year-olds (+41%, or +106 cases) and more moderately among adults (+14%, or +137 cases). In total, 1,551 cases (vs. 1,314 cases in W09) were recorded across all age groups (an increase of 18% vs. a decrease of 0.2% in W09 and 13% in W08). Suspected COVID-19 rose to 8th place among children aged 2–14 and remained in 9th place among those aged 15–74 in the ranking of the most common conditions. Procedures increased in all regions except Brittany, Normandy, and Centre-Val de Loire.
Since surveillance began on March 3, 2020, 330,671 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
One week after the start of the school year in all regions, influenza is rising sharply across all age groups: +40% among children under 2, +71% among 2- to 14-year-olds, +53% among 15- to 74-year-olds, and +38% among those aged 75 and older (representing +2,601 cases across all age groups). Most other seasonal respiratory indicators are on the rise, particularly bronchitis, which is increasing more markedly among children than adults
(bronchitis: +27%, or +570 cases across all age groups).
Among other indicators, there has been an increase in cases of viral syndrome (+37%, or +154 cases) and chickenpox (+21%, or +71 cases) among children.
