Key Points

  • In Week 24 (June 10–16, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.

  • Over the past week, seasonal indicators were mostly stable or declining across most age groups.

  • Procedures for suspected COVID-19 continued to rise (+29% in W24 vs. +51% in W23), increasing from 1,509 in W23 to 1,946 procedures in W24. This increase mainly concerned adults, with: +47% among those aged 75 and older (179 cases vs. 122 in W23) and +29% among those aged 15–74 (1,574 cases vs. 1,220 in W23), representing a higher proportion of activity than that observed in 2023 and 2021 during the same period. In smaller patient populations, this increase was also observed among children aged 2–14 (+19%, or 167 procedures vs. 140 in S23).

  • Among other indicators, most of the increases observed were among those aged 75 and older: ENT conditions (+9%, 340 procedures in Q24), asthma attacks (+26%, 44 procedures in Q24), fainting spells (+34%, 63 procedures in Q24), as well as procedures for bronchitis (+16%, 378 procedures in Q24), which were also on the rise among those under 15 (+8%, 1,254 procedures in Q24) and at levels slightly higher than in the previous two years.

  • Finally, there was an increase in procedures for chickenpox among 2- to 14-year-olds (+28%, 581 procedures in S24) and for conjunctivitis among 15- to 74-year-olds (+9%, 450 procedures in S24).
