Key Points
In Week 29 (July 18–24, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined across all age groups.
After six weeks of increases, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have declined for the second consecutive week: a total of 5,596 procedures (vs. 7,698 in Week 28) were recorded across all age groups (a decrease of 27% vs. 10% in Week 28). This decline applies to all age groups. Nevertheless, these procedures remain the second most frequent across all age groups. At the regional level, SOS Médecins medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are down in all regions, with the exception of Martinique (+46%, or +35 procedures).

Most other indicators are declining. In connection with the heat wave, there was an increase in procedures for heatstroke across all age groups (+29%, or +86 procedures), particularly among children under 2 years old (13 vs. 7 procedures in Week 28, or +86%) and those aged 75 and older (33 vs. 18 procedures in Week 28, or +74%) and for dehydration among those aged 15 and older (+9%, or +13 cases). Finally, there was an increase in cases of general health deterioration among those aged 75 and older (+6%, or +26 cases).
