Key Points
In Week 27 (July 4–10, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable or declined across all age groups.
Medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 rose for the sixth consecutive week, though the increase was less pronounced than in previous weeks: a total of 8,444 procedures (vs. 7,799 in Week 26) were recorded across all age groups (an 8% increase vs. 53% in Week 26). By age group, the following trends are observed: +42% among those under 2 years old (+82 cases), +14% (i.e., +86 cases) among those 75 years and older, +7% (i.e., +428 cases) among those aged 15–74, and stable among those aged 2–14. These procedures rank second among the most frequent procedures across all age groups. At the regional level, SOS Médecins medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are increasing in all regions, with the exception of Occitanie (stable), Corsica, and Martinique (decrease). The largest increases are observed in Brittany (+36%, or +94 cases), Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (+32%, or +76 cases), Hauts-de-France (+23%, or +134 cases), Grand-Est (+19%, or +95 cases), Centre-Val de Loire (+18%, or +9 procedures), and PACA (+13%, or +108 procedures).
Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 387,566 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
Most other indicators are stable or declining, with the exception of an increase in procedures for heatstroke among those aged 15–74 and 2–14 (respectively +144%, or +36 procedures, and +42%, or +11 procedures), insect bites among those aged 15–74 (+17%, or +85 cases), and allergies among adults (+7%, or +51 cases). Also worth noting among those aged 75 and older is an increase in cases of pneumonia (+23%, or +37 cases) and deterioration in general health (+11%, or +32 cases).
