The increase in activity is primarily driven by respiratory conditions, with case numbers at levels comparable to or lower than those of previous years:
All ages: influenza/influenza-like illness (+67%, or +4,483 cases), pneumonia (+27%, or +314 cases), and viral syndrome (+17%, or +118 cases),
Among children aged 2–14 and adults: upper respiratory tract conditions (+10%, or +2,788 cases), acute bronchitis (+25%, or +1,058 cases), and asthma attacks (+20%, or +269 cases),
Among adults aged 15–74: suspected COVID-19 (+22%, or +75 cases) and asthma attacks (+14%, or +92 cases).
Procedures for bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age have stabilized and remain at a lower level than in previous years. They account for 11% of the total coded activity for this age group. In contrast, procedures for asthma attacks are up 16% in children under 2 years of age (+20 procedures).
Among other indicators, there was also an increase in procedures for:
gastroenteritis in children aged 2–14 (+6%, or +127 cases) and adults (+11%, or +363 cases),
