Summary

  • In week 47, overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics continues to rise among children and remains stable among adults. Consultations for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age are on the rise, consistent with trends from previous years. The epidemic has spread throughout mainland France, with the exception of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Corsica regions.

  • Consultations for influenza/flu-like illness have risen sharply across all age groups (+65%) compared to the previous week, and the proportion of activity related to influenza is higher than in the previous two years.

  • Among those under 15, other winter illnesses (upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, and vomiting) are on the rise, with a proportion of cases comparable to that of the previous two years, except for gastroenteritis (which remains higher).

  • Among those over 15 years of age, consultations for upper respiratory tract conditions and bronchitis are on the rise, with a proportion of coded activity consistently higher than in the previous two years.
