Key Points
In Week 48 (November 25–December 1, 2024), following a sharp increase among children in Week 46 (+28%) and stabilization in Week 47, activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly in Week 48 (+4.7%, or +1,567 visits). Among adults, activity remained stable.
All respiratory indicators are on the rise among children. Notably, among children under 15, there were increases in influenza/flu-like illness (+46%, or +474 cases), pneumonia (+18%, or +83 cases), acute bronchitis (+7%, or +130 cases), and upper respiratory tract conditions among 2- to 14-year-olds (+5%, or +980 cases). Furthermore, among children under 2 years of age, there was an increase in cases of bronchiolitis (+12%, or +61 cases) and asthma attacks (+23%, or +25 cases).
Among adults, only cases of influenza/influenza-like illness (+17%, or +516 cases) and acute bronchitis in those aged 75 and older (+7%, or +29 cases) are on the rise.
Excluding respiratory conditions, there was an increase in procedures:
in children (under 2 years old) and adults for conjunctivitis (respectively +21% and +6%, or +57 and +21 cases);
among children aged 2–14 for viral syndrome (+19%, or +114 visits) and vomiting (+17%, or +43 visits);
among adults for deterioration in general health among those aged 75 and older (+22%, or +48 visits) and malaise (+13%, or +30 visits).
